After watching the match, I think it worked out like it should have. I did not see either squad really dominate. Sure, the United States goal was a gift from a seriously unfortunate England mistake. "On any given day..." and all that.

However, the US played up to snuff and deserved the tie, just maybe not off a fluke. Particularly when you look at the sheer talent of the English lads. Now, our US team is solid, but seriously the English team ought to be nearly untouchable. I believe the problem, as the announcers pointed out, is that team mentality is missing from England. The US seemed to get their act together and perform as a unit. If you've played, you know teams win games.

Moving on, though, both squads need to get on a higher level. Through their bracket I see them both advancing, despite a win by Slovenia placing them as the current bracked leader. But with so many errors plaguing teams, and particularly goal keepers, "on any given day..."
