World Cup 2010: Serbia vs Ghana
Written by craig coffman
A quick take on this match. I was surprised. I adore Ghana, and they were my dark horse in 2006. This time I was firmly in their camp and excited with the youth of their roster, but I was not impressed with their performance. Individually they were splendid, but as a unit it was not there. In fact, even playing one man down Serbia seemed to own the pitch. They just failed to find the back of the net. Maybe it's first game gitters? They are a young squad, and I hope with this first victory under their belt they start to gel and play like I believe they can. They are in a tough bracket, and Serbia with the loss is definitely not out.

After watching the match, I think it worked out like it should have. I did not see either squad really dominate. Sure, the United States goal was a gift from a seriously unfortunate England mistake. "On any given day..." and all that.

I have always enjoyed the idea of a universal symbol for anarchy. Similar to the uniforms for individuality found in many sub-sects of music. Always a fine paradox.
Can Hotshot Ad Guy Alex Bogusky Make Microsoft Cool? Nope.
Written by craig coffman
Fast Company last month featured this article asking a simple question: Can Alex Bogusky (pictured to the left) make Microsoft cool? Seems like a simple question. It has all the wonderings of a solid point-of-interest article. But, after reading it you are told the answer. No. He cannot.

“You can stand for nothing, or die for something.”

Here is how we get out of Iraq, or any conflict: John Rambo. Man, that guy can still kick butt! He is 80 years old now and does this for free. Yeah, really! He does not take money for his service. Killing is in his blood. He can’t control it and, probably, needs us to help him release all the built up rage.
Add a commentSpain levels Germany in the Euro Cup

I just watched Spain dismantle Germany today. All through the telecast, the announcers kept saying how Spain has been dubbed ‘The Underachievers’, but I did not see any hint of that. Instead, I saw the juggernaut Germany get served. Repeatedly. It was what I had expected in the end, a Spanish victory, but not such a decisive and resolute trouncing.

Many of you are already familiar with this site, but for those of you who have somehow missed out on it, I would like to introduce you to The Best Page in the Universe. Maddox, if that is his real name, is hilarious. His rants are merciless and pointed. But more than just being “controversal”, they are smart. Or smart-ass. Taking on topics from Puns to Crappy Children’s Art to the size of his balls, Maddox never disappoints.

As mentioned in an earlier post, I have made some changes octoberland. All in all, I think for the best and it is still a work in progress. One of the biggest problems with this process is a loss of posts. The databases were just not working out. So, out of love for my readers, I manually copied and pasted numerous articles into this new site. As you look through, if you find missing / broken links please bring them to my attention. Enjoy your time in octoberland!

Written by craig coffman
Okay, so I know Fast Company is not a new thing, and I am hardly a ground-breaker on reading it. However, I always dismissed it as a light-weight magazine. I figured it was just trying to be a hip business rag. Well, it is. But the substance is beyond the norm.
Green Your House: $100 worth of tips.
We have all been bombarded with tips, tricks, and suggestions to make our homes and lives more eco-friendly. With all the tips out there, I started to wonder how useful they really are? I mean, obviously doing anything is better than doing nothing but how much of a change could really be made? Living in Omaha, there is a growing green movement, but most people are still seen as tree-hugging hippies if they do something for the environment. Instead, I thought of these changes in a financial light to see if that might be a better angle to make people try them. I decided to put a few basic ideas to the test.
