Jack Burton broadcasting from the Pork Chop Express
I was strolling through Target the other day with my son and we passed the movie isle. I normally do not buy films because they are quite expensive and, frankly, there are not many I want to watch over and over. There are a few, and this is one of them. One of John Carpenter's finest moments, in my humble opinion. Yes, the effects are dated. The movie though survives. The dialogue and sight gags still hold up. If you have not seen this Cult Classic, I suggest you rent it. I bet you will find it funny. Just let yourself go and take it for what it is. If you love it, grab a $5 copy from your local target.
By the way, the image I found for this post is definitely not the normal cover. It is some movie poster on the Ain't It Cool site. You can check out the full image archived on Robot Walrus. Too bad they could not have used this image. I think it is fantastic.
