Can Hotshot Ad Guy Alex Bogusky Make Microsoft Cool? Nope.
Written by craig coffman
Fast Company last month featured this article asking a simple question: Can Alex Bogusky (pictured to the left) make Microsoft cool? Seems like a simple question. It has all the wonderings of a solid point-of-interest article. But, after reading it you are told the answer. No. He cannot.

Bellwether Boutique
Written by craig coffman
My friend Jessica opened Bellwether Boutique here in Omaha. It fetures vintage clothes, furniture, hand-made articles, and local art. A blend of old and new, bound primarily by the keen her keen sense of fashion and style. I hope it proves to be a smashing success.
She contacted me to do some design for the store, but they ended up not using it. Still, I quite like the look / feel I developed and decided to show them here. Please click on a thumbnail to launch the gallery.
Free Desktop Background: Abstract
Written by craig coffman
I have been wanting to learn more about Photoshop, and figured without a project I would never make the time. My solution? Create desktops for you to use and learn in the process. These are based off of tutorials I have found, and then changed to create something of my own. I hope you find them interesting.
FREE Get Out of Iraq Card!

“You can stand for nothing, or die for something.”
John Rambo
Here is how we get out of Iraq, or any conflict: John Rambo. Man, that guy can still kick butt! He is 80 years old now and does this for free. Yeah, really! He does not take money for his service. Killing is in his blood. He can’t control it and, probably, needs us to help him release all the built up rage.
Wanted... a plot? Dialogue? Action? Okay, it has action.
Written by craig coffman
I just saw the movie Wanted and I left only wanting my money back. What a waste of time. The special effects were top notch, but everything after that was thin to non-existant. I do not go to action movies with high hopes for story line cohesion, but this was just horrible. I wish the voice track could have been muted, but let the SFX rumble. That would have been awesome.

Spain levels Germany in the Euro Cup
Written by craig coffman
I just watched Spain dismantle Germany today. All through the telecast, the announcers kept saying how Spain has been dubbed ‘The Underachievers’, but I did not see any hint of that. Instead, I saw the juggernaut Germany get served. Repeatedly. It was what I had expected in the end, a Spanish victory, but not such a decisive and resolute trouncing.
CSS Table Styles
Written by craig coffman
Ever find yourself in the situation where you need to use a table? You ought to, because there really is a time and a place for them in modern html. However, if you (like me) have all but tossed the cursed memory of tables out of your memory and are fully embracing the css / xhtml paradigm, some style guidance is appreciated. That’s right, I just said style.
The Best Page in the Universe
Written by craig coffman
Many of you are already familiar with this site, but for those of you who have somehow missed out on it, I would like to introduce you to The Best Page in the Universe. Maddox, if that is his real name, is hilarious. His rants are merciless and pointed. But more than just being “controversal”, they are smart. Or smart-ass. Taking on topics from Puns to Crappy Children’s Art to the size of his balls, Maddox never disappoints.
Computer Backgrounds at any DPI!
Written by craig coffman
Perhaps I am the only one not knowing this, but I was amazed to learn that you can set a graphic to whatever DPI you want and it still displays sharp on your monitor. That is, you can make an image 1600X1200 with a DPI of 2 (yes, 2!) and set it to your desktop background. It displays beautifully. This, in my opinion, is a huge deal to anyone wishing to make images for other people, or even yourself. Apparently it does not decrease the file size (for whatever reason), but you can make images massive without having a giant 300DPI image as your source.
Many Older octoberland Articles Now Available
Written by craig coffman
As mentioned in an earlier post, I have made some changes octoberland. All in all, I think for the best and it is still a work in progress. One of the biggest problems with this process is a loss of posts. The databases were just not working out. So, out of love for my readers, I manually copied and pasted numerous articles into this new site. As you look through, if you find missing / broken links please bring them to my attention. Enjoy your time in octoberland!
